Oak Class
The children in Oak class are years 5 and 6. They are taught core subjects, maths, writing, reading, history, geography and science in the mornings. In the afternoons they join Redwood class for physical education, music, religious education, french, design technology, art, information technology and personal, social, heath, education.

A note from the teacher:
I have been teaching for over 20 years and during this time I’ve had the privilege of teaching all age groups, from reception to year 6 in different sized schools. I have been at Finmere since September 2021 and have been the class teacher for Oak since September 2022. I am passionate about Maths and have been working for the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching of Mathematics for the last few years. I believe in developing every child as an individual, so they are able to feel successful. I think Finmere is a hidden gem, where all the children truly feel welcomed and valued.
